Peter Timmermans grew iceberg lettuce, and Jan van Gassel grew cauliflower. Together, they cultivated leeks in the winter. To increase their efficiency, they merged in 2002 to form Groentemakers.
In 2014, demand for cauliflower increased, and they entered into a partnership with Van Dijck Groenteproducties for its development. Leeks joined the partnership in 2015, and the two entities then collaborated on all crops, including spring onions in 2018.Since then, we have experienced strong growth, to the point that the company has become too small. In 2021, we moved with moved our teams to a brand-new site, which we designed specificaly, where all activities are consolidated and whose development potential allows for unhindered growth.
